2017 Grade Bay Paint Mare

Included in the sale is War Pony’s beautiful 3-month-old GELDED colt, War Baby. War Pony is a gentle, broke 14.2-hand, nice-looking mare with a good neck rein and stop. She will ride by herself or with others. She was used as a guest horse on one-hour rides before being purchased, and also served as a wrangler horse in the wilderness camps at Black Mountain Outfitters. She will stand tied by herself, but is happy to be with the bunch. War Pony can really travel and has a great walk, trot, and lope. She was ridden bareback with a halter quite a bit. She is both hobble-broke and picket-broke by a front foot.  She will go up the mountain in daylight or dark and is sure-footed over deadfall. She has led the pack string and held mules while they were packed with elk meat. She is a sensible and intelligent mare. War Pony has a superficial scar on her left shoulder from scraping an irrigation wheel line on the pasture last winter. The vet stitched it, and its skin only and healed well. Current on EWT, flu, Rhino, and wormer. I recently bought her from Black Mountain Outfitters, but I must sell her as my wife and I are in our 80s, and my wife was diagnosed with bone cancer. War Baby is extremely friendly and is already eating hay and grazing on his own. He is halter-broke and can lead. I would like to have them stay together as the mare and colt are very bonded. When he sheds his baby coat, he will be a dark bay color with more white areas and white legs. For more info, photos, or a video, call/text or email mjskwalton@aol.com. VIDEO: Contact Seller.
