2012 GRADE Gray Gelding

"“Stevie” | Quarter horse Gelding | Built • Broke • Beast of a Ranch Horse. Stevie is the definition of a powerhouse — a true unit of a gelding with a monster build, correct conformation, and a thick mane, tail, and a heart of gold to complete the picture. This is a ranch horse through and through — gritty, reliable, and always ready to show up and work. Stevie has been with me for the past few years as a trail and kids horse as well as being an amazing lesson horse and teacher for me, but before we had him, he was excelling as a heading horse for years. He has amazing records and did well competing. See some of his first videos to see him at competitions! This gelding has been there, done that, and is ready to go again. From navigating steep mountain trails, long rides across rough terrain, and rocky climbs to confidently handling the chaos of downtown traffic, strollers, bikes, and noise — Stevie stays calm, steady, and focused no matter the setting. In the arena, he’s got the goods. Stevie has a finished neck rein(even bridle-less! See video) smooth rollback, and a huge stop off your seat and voice. He moves easily through a walk, jog, and lope with rhythm and softness. He holds a beautiful circle, carries himself naturally and calmly. He’s also sidepass-to-the-gate handy, easy to mount and dismount, and has been desensitized to all kinds of obstacles. Flags, tarps, ropes, bouncing balls — you name it, he’s worked around it. He’s been a beast of a rope horse for years and is a solid fit for ranch work, versatility, or just a confident, broke gelding to get the job done. On the ground, Stevie is respectful, easy to lead, load, tie, and stands quietly for the vet and farrier. He does well in a herd setting and gets along with other horses. If you’re after a strong, no-nonsense gelding with tons of presence and all the right buttons, Stevie is the total package. Watch his video to see this beast in action and come try him out — he’s the real deal.
