Pompeii's Winter - 2020 GHA Red Roan Mare - GHC02715 - Mitch Jacobs, Hamer, ID - The old saying goes, A lucky man gets three things in life. One great woman, One great dog, and One great horse. This 6-year-old, 14.3-hand Gypsy Heritage cross mare is that once in a lifetime kind of great horse. She is by the great LDR Whiskey and out of a daughter of San Shorty Prom (by Zoom Zoom Shorty). She combines the athleticism, handle, and stopping ability of a cow horse with the stoutness, bone, muscle, and eye-catching look of a Gypsy Vanner, making her an exceptional all-around ranch, rope, and family horse. She is a beautiful red roan with a phenomenal mane and tail and turns heads everywhere she goes. More importantly, she is genuinely quiet, incredibly versatile, and extremely broke. She rides in a full bridle, takes the bit without hesitation, saddles quietly, and has never bucked, reared, kicked, bit, or humped up. She is easy to catch, easy to shoe, an easy keeper, has never colicked, and is the kind of mare that stands quietly when asked and then gives you 100% of her effort the moment you go to work. She has an exceptional handle and a tremendous amount of natural ability. She moves easily off leg pressure, neck reins, has a correct spin, huge sliding stop, good sidepass, yields her hindquarters, moves her shoulders beautifully, and consistently picks up the correct lead when loping. Her walk, trot, and lope are smooth and comfortable. She has plenty of athletic ability and knows her spot on a cow extremely well and is an absolute dream to rope on. She is the kind you can simply put your hand down on and trust to put you in the right spot. She has been patterned as a heel horse and makes a clean, collected corner before finishing exactly where she needs to be on the steer with a solid stop. She has also been extensively used outside, including 20+ mile days gathering and sorting cattle, and she simply does not run out of gas. She has branded a ton of calves and is a professional in the branding pen—so stout that you can hardly feel a 5-weight calf behind you when dragging one to the fire. She competed successfully at the Afton, Wyoming Fourth of July Ranch Rodeo in pasture team roping, team doctoring, and team branding. She has been ridden by young girls and would be best suited for a confident rider of any age. She is gentle and trustworthy enough to be a fantastic choice for a young teen, while still having enough ability, athleticism, and power to be thoroughly enjoyable for an adult. She is not a sleepy-eyed pony that simply plods around, and that is exactly what makes her so special—she is a quiet, willing, responsive horse that will give a capable young rider room to grow while giving an adult plenty of horse to enjoy. She stands quietly around other horses, does not bite or nip, has excellent manners when taken to town, and is happy to wait patiently until it is time to go to work. She has crossed water, loads great, is good with tarps, and has packed a flag around the arena. She has an exceptional level of trust and training. She has been trick trained to stand quietly while a rider stands on her back and cracks a whip, allows a rider to slide off her rump, and will lay down and sit down on command(see video). HORSE SALE TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. The highest bidder is the buyer. Any dispute between two or more bidders, sole authority to settle the dispute as the auctioneer sees fit is reserved by the auctioneer, including the right to reject any or all bids.
2. Terms of the sale are cash or bankable check.
3. When a horse is sold, title shall pass to the buyer.
4. Horses are offered for sale according to the laws of the State of Montana, and the right to bid is reserved for all sellers in this sale.
5. Horses are at the buyer’s expense and risk and responsibility from the time of the purchase, but no delivery will be made until final
settlement has been made.
6. There is no guarantee of any kind as to the soundness or condition or other quality of any horse sold in this sale. Once the sale closes the sale is final.
7. The sale management, auctioneers, and employees act as agents for the sellers, but assume no liability for either buyer or sellers.
Any representations made by the sale management are made on behalf of the seller.
8. Every effort has been made to ensure correctness of the catalog. However, sales management, printer and auctioneer assume no responsibility for errors or omissions.
9. Checks should be made payable to BLS or Billings Livestock Commission.
10. Sellers have the right to bid. The auctioneer may protect the seller.
11. MUST BE AGE 18 OR OLDER TO CREATE ACCOUNT OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY BLS SHOWCASE SESSIONS.
SETTLEMENT PROCEDURES
First - Sale Invoice: At the conclusion of the bidding on each lot, the successful bidder will be emailed an invoice for the lots purchased.
Second - Payment of Account: Full settlement of purchases need to be made no later than the Tuesday following the sale, at 5PM. Payment will be made by United States currency, certified check, money order, traveler’s check, or personal check. Canadian buyers must pay with US Currency or Certified Funds.
Third - Permission to Load Out: After payment of the buyer’s account is made, buyer will receive permission to load out which will permit removal of the animal from the seller.

Please be reminded that title passes at the fall of the hammer, at which time the purchaser assumes all risk and responsibility to move
