2017 AQHA Gray Gelding
2017 AQHA Gray Gelding x Frenchmans Quik Dash x Royal Quick Dash out of Promised Lane x King Of The Lanes. Barrel Racing, Heading & Ranch Gelding. He’s a big boy, standing at 16.1 hh. Nelson is a very friendly, in your pocket personality, this guy is the first to meet you at the gate. I took him to rodeos summer 2025 and he handled life on the road like a pro; eating, drinking and hauling well with others. He also handles a rodeo atmosphere well. At barrel races he stands up on all types of ground & handles various set ups well. Typically runs a mid 18 on a standard pattern (18.2 being his current fast time) and often lands in the 3D depending on race size. This winter he was primarily used as a practice head horse & just taken to barrel races occasionally. With no barrel work he would land anywhere from the 3D (out of 130+) to winning the 5D open at a NBHA Supershow (300+). He has also been lightly started on poles and has taken a real liking to them. Paid in full to the Royal Crown Lifetime Royalty. On the heading side he is still green, but ready to be hauled for money and finished out your way. Additionally, Nelson has been used on the ranch extensively and is a dream riding out on his own. Good crossing water, down timber and rough terrain. He’s sure footed riding out on the ranch and this transfers over to the arena. UTD on vaccines, worming and shoes. He had his hocks and stifles injected for the first time in August 2025 as maintenance. His only other maintenance is PEMF sessions. Has some cosmetic scars on his legs, we haven’t had any lameness issues in the 3 years of owning him. Can keep in Wittmann Arizona until April 22 at no additional cost. Willing to provide transportation from Wittmann AZ to Gunnison Colorado (or anywhere along the way) on April 23rd. Can help arrange transportation nationwide at buyers expense.
