NOTES: Clyde stands 11hh, is easy to groom, saddle, bridle, load and unload in the trailer, good for the farrier, and isn’t difficult to catch as long as you have a “cookie” for him (horse treat). He has been difficult to catch in the past at his other homes, but I have him coming to me and standing to be caught as long as I have a horse treat to show him and give him after putting his halter on. I have also been graining him with a little senior after rides and working with him, this has had a positive effect on his attitude during our days spent working together. He has been around small children, is super desensitized and still has a lot of go for his age. This guy would be the ideal step-up pony for a kid that knows how to plow rein and sit on a horse. He is a little heavy in the mouth so a handy kid would be best, he does rides best with a saddle and in a curb bit, but I have been riding him in a 3-piece shank. Clyde does good riding out with other ponies as well as alone. He will cross water with a bit of encouragement, does great in the mountains, and is sure footed. He loves going with other horses/ponies/minis and will keep a safe distance between him and the other horses. Walks, trots and lopes out under control. Clyde has been kept with big and small horses and has shown no interest in picking fights over hay, he likes to wait till everyone is settled and then start his meal. At the moment he is spending his days babysitting a couple miniature weanling stud colts. Willing to hold for 2 weeks and can help with transportation up to 100 miles. Coggins.
