• A A R Blackbird 2400 was the top pick of our 2022 heifer calves. We selected her for several reasons. One, she is phenotypically as impressive as it gets. A beautiful front end to go along with extra length and thickness. She also excels on paper with a great EPD profile that provides balance between the performance traits and improved carcass and $ value merit. And last but not least, she comes from a great cow and cow line. Her dam, A A R Blackbird 0522, is one of our favorite first calvers. She is moderate framed with extra spring of rib, good foot structure and a great udder. Her grandam has been a top producer for us, raising 7 calves with an average weaning and yearling ratio of 102. She also has a really good disposition and an excellent udder.
• The Tahoe cattle have been extremely well received around the country. They have good thickness and performance. They look to add carcass merit to most any cross as well. We are particularly pleased with the look of the replacement heifers sired by him. We feel that she would be a great addition to anyone’s heifer pen.
